What about Windows ? Is there ANY way to change the Windows product key without reinstalling? The key is encoded using base encoding and there are tons of utilities to view the key but none to change it. Only reply if you have personally verified and tested the method works.

Post by compgeke » Mon Jul 25, am Activation is where the system connects to the internet and checks with the server to see if the key has been used and whatnot and when you enter a key it's key verification. Also, what logical reason could you have for needing to change the key? If you pirated it who cares, it's that old. Windows Key Viewer is portable, requiring no installation, and easy to use. Once it displays your product key, you can write it down, old school, or copy it to the clipboard. You can also email it to yourself, although that's probably not the best plan unless you have to.
