There are several potential short-term contributing factors. When the weather outside gets cold, the chances of condensation occurring increase substantially. A special drying agent or desiccant is then pumped or injected in to dry out the air or expel the condensation within the unit.

An anti-fogging agent is sometimes used to prevent the build-up of any further moisture before the unit is completely sealed again. Resealing will solve the problem, but may not actually address the core issue. Some may mention that the condensation formed on the unit is concentrated on the centre of the unit with no condensation on the perimeter of the unit where it meets the window frame itself. As long as the condensation is not between the glass panes the window is functioning perfectly normally.
