Search for where the patch installed on your computer, as it will not install to your steam, but to a THQ folder instead.

I also tried editing the register entry about version from 1. Digital distribution says it uses us version and us patcher says it uses en version. Edit 3 Finally some progress.

I found some other guide about tampering with stalker's registry keys. After that it did everything as this thread tells. After installing the patch US version to some location in C:, the stalker register changed back like it was before.
